Holidays with Lorre in December 2021


December brings the holiday season Hanukkah, Christmas, and New Year's, but not many Lorre movies this year on the Turner Classic Movies channel.

December, 2021

The Star of the Month on TCM is Ingrid Bergman, and her only film with Peter Lorre kicks off December.

Dec. 1 (Wed), 10 pm, Turner Classic Movies channel – Casablanca (1942). As the passport racketeer Ugarge, Peter aids Ingrid Bergman and Paul Henreid in their escape from Casablanca.

Dec. 2 (Thurs), 9:50 am, Fox Movie channel – Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea (1961).

Dec. 3 (Fri), 7:50 am, FXM – Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea (1961).

Dec. 28 (Tues), 4 pm, TCM – Silk Stockings (1957). The daytime theme is "50s Musicals", including the only MGM musical in which Peter Lorre sang and danced.

Sneak Peek at January, 2022

A new year and new opportunities to catch Lorre films on television!

Jan. 13 (Thurs), 4:30 am, TCM – The Cross of Lorraine (1943). The primetime theme is “WWII POWs”, including this MGM World War II film about Grench soldiers who surrender too easily and find themselves imprisoned in a prisoner of war camp in Germany.

Jan. 30 (Sun), 4 pm, TCM – Arsenic and Old Lace (1944).
