December brings the holiday season Hanukkah, Christmas, and New Year's, but not many Lorre movies this year on the Turner Classic Movies channel.

The Star of the Month on TCM is Ingrid Bergman, and her only film with Peter Lorre kicks off December.

Dec. 1 (Wed), 10 pm, Turner Classic Movies channel – Casablanca (1942). As the passport racketeer Ugarge, Peter aids Ingrid Bergman and Paul Henreid in their escape from Casablanca.

Dec. 2 (Thurs), 9:50 am, Fox Movie channel – Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea (1961).

Dec. 3 (Fri), 7:50 am, FXM – Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea (1961).

Dec. 28 (Tues), 4 pm, TCM – Silk Stockings (1957). The daytime theme is "50s Musicals", including the only MGM musical in which Peter Lorre sang and danced.

Nov. 2 (Tues), 11:10 am, Movies! Network – Arsenic and Old Lace (1944).

Nov. 3 (Wed), 8 pm, TCM – The Maltese Falcon (1941). TCM begins their month-long salute to "Star of the Month" Sydney Greenstreet with his first movie. This classic detective film was also Peter Lorre's first movie with Sydney G. and his first at Warner Bros., the studio Peter would become most asociated with.

Nov. 3 (Wed) 3:45 am, TCM – Passage to Marseille (1944).

Nov. 6 (Sat), 11 am, Movies! Network – Arsenic and Old Lace (1944).

Nov. 10 (Wed), 3:30 am, TCM – Background to Danger (1943). The Sydney Greenstreet fest continues with this spy thriller based on an Eric Ambler novel.

Nov. 14 (Sun), 5:10 pm, Movies! Network – Arsenic and Old Lace (1944).

Nov. 15 (Mon), 4 am, TCM – Silk Stockings (1957). The prime-time theme is "Dance Numbers", including Peter Lorre's only singing and dancing role as a Russian commissar who goes to Paris with two other commissars to retrieve a musician and end up falling in love with the City of Lights.

Nov. 17 (Wed), 8 pm, TCM – The Verdict (1946). TCM's Sydney Greenstreet fest continues with the final movie Peter Lorre made with Sydney.

Nov. 17 (Wed), 9:45 pm, TCM – Three Strangers (1946). Peter Lorre and Sydney Greenstreet play two of the title characters, who with Geraldine Fitzgerald, make a combined wish on a statuette of an ancient Chinese goddess, with tragic results.

Nov. 17 (Wed), 11:30 pm, TCM – The Conspirators (1944).

Nov. 22 (Mon), 12 noon, TCM – Around the World in 80 Days (1956). The daytime theme is "David Niven". Peter Lorre is one of many cameos in this star-studded extravaganza about the Victorian gentleman (Niven) who makes a bet with his fellow Club members that he can travel around the world in just 80 days.

Nov. 24 (Wed), 8 pm, TCM – Casablanca (1942). TCM ends their month-long salute to Sydney Greenstreet with the second of his films with Peter Lorre.

Nov. 24 (Wed), 12 midnight, TCM – The Mask of Dimitrios (1944). In this film adapted from an Eric Ambler novel, Peter Lorre plays a professor turned mystery novelist who decides to research the life and evil career of an international criminal and soon cross paths with the mysterious Mr. Peters (Greenstreet), who has his own reasons for locating the criminal.

As Dr. Gogol, he loves stage actress Yvonne Orlac (Frances Drake) from afar and soon has an opportunity to ingratiate himself with her when her husband Stephen mangles his hands in a train accident.

Oct. 2 (Sat), 1:25 pm, Movies! Network – You'll Find Out (1940). In this comedy version of an old, dark house film, band-leader Kay Kyser and his College of Musical Knowledge band play for a 21st birthday party, with Peter Lorre, Boris Karloff, and Bela Lugosi.

Because of the continuing COVID-19 pandemic this year, the Academy Awards were bumped from February to Sunday, April 25, 2021. And the Turner Classic Movies channel holds its annual “31 Days of Oscar” film fest from April 1 to May 1, including a few Lorre films. This month, all movies are shown in alphabetical order.

Apr. 2 (Fri), 6:45 pm, Turner Classic Movies channel – Around the World in 80 Days (1956). This all-star extravaganza about a Victorian gentleman who makes a bet with his fellow Club members that he can travel around the world in 80 days won 5 Academy Awards – Best Picture, Best Cinematography, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Film Editing, and Best Original Score. The film was nominated for three awards – Best Director, Best Production Design, and Best Costume Design.

Apr. 16 (Fri), 9:05 am, Movies! Network – Beat the Devil (1954).

Apr. 16 (Fri), 6 pm, TCM – The Maltese Falcon (1941). Peter Lorre’s first movie with Warner Bros, the studio he would become most identified with, received three Oscar nominations – Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Supporting Actor for Sydney Greenstreet.

Apr. 17 (Sat), 6:30 am, TCM – Meet Me in Las Vegas (1956). Peter Lorre makes a cameo appearance as a blackjack player in this musical, which received one Oscar nomination – Scoring of Musical for George Stoll and Johnny Green.

Lorre Movies in February 2021

February is normally the month of TCM’s annual "31 Days of Oscar", leading up to the Academy Awards ceremony, but with the Oscars rescheduled for April 25, 2021, February becomes an ordinary month of movies. But with Valentine’s Day on Sunday, February 14, Lorre fans can celebrate their "Lorre Love" throughout the month with several Peter Lorre films on the Turner Classic Movies channel, as well as other channels.

Feb. 12 (Fri), 8 pm, TCM – Casablanca (1940). The primetime theme is “TCM Romantic Weekend Getaway”, and with Valentine’s Day falling on Sunday, Feb. 14, celebrate your "Lorre Love" with the movie that led to a Warner Bros. contract for Peter.
