Canadian Noir Fest Includes Lorre Films

As part of its film noir series, the Dalhousie Art Gallery, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, will include two Peter Lorre films – Stranger on the Third Floor (1940) and The Maltese Falcon (1941).

Stranger on the Third Floor will be shown on Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2015. The movie Detour (1945) will follow.

The Maltese Falcon (1941) will be shown the following Wednesday on Jan. 28, 2015.

Both Lorre movies will begin at 8 pm.

Admission is free for everyone.

The noir series “Long Shadows at Dawn: The Art of Film Noir” will run every Wednesday night at 8 pm from Jan. 21 to June 3. Ron Foley MacDonald will curate the series. The full schedule is available on the Dal website.
