Lorre Documentary On View in Barcelona

German filmmaker Harun Farocki’s 1984 documentary Peter Lorre: Das doppelte Gesicht (Peter Lorre: The Double Face) is currently on show at the gallery Àngels Barcelona, located in Barcelona, Spain.

The documentary is part of the exhibit “Men in Trouble”, conceived by Farocki with Antje Ehmann. Through film and video, “Men in Trouble” explores the “representation of the male crisis and its archetypes in cinema.”

The exhibit opened Sunday, Nov. 18, 2018, and will continue until Friday, Jan. 11, 2019.

Written by Harun Farocki and Felix Hofmann, the 59-minute Peter Lorre: Das doppelte Gesicht discusses Peter’s career through photos and film clips, including an interview with Stephen D. Youngkin, author of The Lost One: A Life of Peter Lorre (University Press of Kentucky, 2005).

Peter Lorre: Das doppelte Gesicht is also among the bonus features on Kinowelt Home Entertainment’s 2007 DVD release of Der Verlorene (1951), the only film Peter directed, as well as co-writing, co-producing, and playing the lead character.

Àngels Barcelona is located at 27 Calle Pintor Fortuny, in Barcelona, Spain.

The venue is open Monday through Friday from 10:30 am to 7 pm (19:00). For admission on Saturdays and all other times, please call the gallery at +34 93 412 54 00.
