Lorre on TV in September 2022

Many Lorre films are scheduled for the Turner Classic Movies channel in September. Plus some treats coming up in October for Lorre fans!

All times shown are Eastern Standard.

September, 2022

Peter Lorre's closest friend Humphrey Bogart is TCM's "Star of the Month", and among the Bogart movies shown every Thursday will be the four films he made with Peter at Warner Bros.

Sept. 1 (Thurs), 10 pm, TCM – The Maltese Falcon (1941). The primetime theme is "Bogie and Huston", including the classic hard-boiled detective film that introduced Peter to Bogart.

Sept. 4 (Sun), 1:30 pm, TCM – Around the World in 80 Days (1956).

Sept. 8 (Thurs), 10 pm, TCM – All Through the Night (1942). The primetime theme is "Super Sleuth", and in their second on-screen pairing, Bogart plays a "Broadway bigshot" in search of the murderer of a family friend and soon gets mixed up with Nazis led by Conrad Veidt and Peter Lorre.

Sept. 9 (Fri), 10:55 pm, Talking Pictures Television – The Face Behind the Mask (1941).

Sept. 13 (Tues), 7:40 am, Fox Movie channel – Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea (1961).

Sept. 15 (Thurs), 4 am, TCM – Passage to Marseille (1944).

Sept. 16 (Fri), 4 pm, TCM – Silk Stockings (1957). TCM celebrates the 100th birthday of Janis Paige.

Sept. 17 (Sat), 6 am, TCM – The Constant Nymph (1943).

Sept. 18 (Sun), 1:45 am, Movies! Network – Quicksand (1950).

Sept. 21 (Wed), 11:50 pm, TCM – Hollywood Canteen (1944).

Sept. 22 (Thurs), 11:30 am, Fox Movie channel – Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea (1961).

Sept. 22 (Thurs), 10:15 pm, TCM – Casablanca (1942).


Sneak Peek at October, 2022

October brings Halloween and horror, including some of the horror films in Peter Lorre's filmography.

Oct. 5 (Wed), 12:20 am, Talking Pictures Television – The Comedy of Terrors (1964).

Oct. 13 (Thurs), 10 am, TCM – Silk Stockings (1957). The daytime theme is "Musicals Set in France", including this Fred Astaire and Cyd Charisse musical with a singing and dancing Peter Lorre.

Oct. 16 (Sun), 8am, TCM – The Conspirators (1944).

Oct. 17 (Mon), 4:45 am, TCM – Mad Love (1935).

Oct. 17 (Mon), 4:45 am, Canadian TCM – Stranger on the Third Floor (1940).

Oct. 18 (Tues), 6 am, TCM – The Beast with Five Fingers (1947).
