Holiday Time with Lorre on TV in November 2022

November begins the holiday season, and Lorre films are on the November schedules, including the Turner Classic Movies channel and Talking Pictures TV.

All times shown are Eastern Standard.

Nov. 5 (Sat), 6 am, Talking Pictures Television – Double Confession (1950).

Nov. 5 (Sat), 1:10 pm, Movies!Network – Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea (1961).

Nov. 5 (Sat), 3:05 am, Movies!Network – Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea (1961).

Nov. 9 (Wed), 10 am, TCM – The Conspirators (1944). TCM salutes the birthday of actress Hedy Lamarr with a day of movies, including this WWII spy drama set in Lisbon, Portugal.

Nov. 10 (Thurs), 10 am, Talking Pictures Television – Casbah (1948). As the police Inspector who hunts down the infamous jewel thief Pepe le Moko, Peter co-starred with singer Tony Martin.

Nov. 10 (Thurs), 2:45 pm, TCM – They Met in Bombay (1940). The daytime theme is "Jewel Thieves", including this caper with Clark Gable and Rosalind Russell as con artists after a fabulous pendant – and Peter Lorre as the opportunistic Chinese skipper of a tramp steamer they take refuge on.

Nov. 15 (Tues), 10 am, Talking Pictures Television – I Was an Adventuress (1940). Peter plays the kleptomaniac con-man, Polo – who with his two partners (Eric von Stroheim and Vera Zorina) sells and steals back the same jeweled pendant.

Nov. 19 (Sat), 2 pm, TCM – Mad Love (1935). Note: In Canada, TCM will broadcast The Affairs of Martha (1942) instead of Mad Love.

Nov. 22 (Tues), 10 am, Talking Pictures Television – My Favorite Brunette (1947).

Nov. 25 (Fri), 11:25 pm, Talking Pictures Television – Island of Doomed Men (1940). As Stephen Danel, Peter forces paroled convicts to work in his private diamond mine.


Sneak Peek at December, 2022

December brings a handful of Lorre movies, including TCM's birthday salute to frequent Lorre co-star Sydney Greenstreet.

Dec. 6 (Tues), 10:15 pm, TCM – Casablanca (1942). The primetime theme is "Composer Max Steiner", including this classic of love and danger in the North African city.

Dec. 27 (Tues), 6 am, TCM – Background to Danger (1943). TCM salutes the birthday of Peter Lorre's frequent co-star at Warner Bros. – Sydney Greenstreet – with a day of Greenstreet movies.

Dec. 27 (Tues), 7:30 am, TCM – The Conspirators (1944). TCM continues the Greenstreet birthday tribute.

Dec. 27 (Tues), 9:15 am, TCM – The Mask of Dimitrios (1944). TCM continues the Greenstreet birthday tribute.

Dec. 27 (Tues), 11:00 am, TCM – Three Strangers (1946). TCM continues the Greenstreet birthday tribute.

Dec. 27 (Tues), 6:15 pm, TCM – The Maltese Falcon (1941). TCM ends the Greenstreet birthday tribute with the first movie Peter and Sydney worked in together, along with Humphrey Bogart.
