Merry Christmas with Lorre on TV in December 2022

Lorre fans can wind down the year 2022 with several movies on the December schedules, including the Turner Classic Movies channel and Talking Pictures TV.

For Lorre fans, the highlight of this month is the celebration of Sydney Greenstreet's birthday on December 27 ~

Dec. 1 (Thurs), 8:25 am, Movies!Network – Three Strangers (1946). On the eve of the Chinese New Year, three strangers gather before a statue of Kwan Yin and make a combined wish on a sweepstakes ticket.

Dec. 6 (Tues), 10:15 pm, TCM – Casablanca (1942). The primetime theme is "Composer Max Steiner", including this classic of love and danger in the North African city.

Dec. 8 (Thurs), 4 am, Movies!Network – Three Strangers (1946).

Dec. 11 (Sun), 10 pm, Movies!Network – Three Strangers (1946).

Dec 14 (Wed), 1:55 am, Talking Pictures Television – The Face Behind the Mask (1941). When his face is damaged in a fire, an immigrant watchmaker is forced to turn to crime to finance a rubber mask to conceal the scars, until the love of a blind woman turns his life around.

Dec. 15 (Thurs), 4:15 pm, Movies!Network – Three Strangers (1946).

Dec. 16 (Fri), 5 am, Fox Movie channel – Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea (1961).

Dec. 17 (Sat), 8 pm, MeTV – Invisible Agent (1942). Horror film host Svengoolie presents Peter Lorre's entry in the Invisible Man series.

Dec. 19 (Mon), 4 am, Fox Movie channel – Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea (1961).

Dec. 20 (Tues), 1:10 pm, Fox Movie channel – Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea (1961).

Dec. 22 (Thurs), 3 pm, Inspire channel – Wagon Train, "The Alexander Portlass Story" (NBC, Mar. 16, 1960).

Dec. 22 (Thurs), 11:40 pm, Movies!Network – Three Strangers (1946).

Dec. 27 (Tues), 6 am, TCM – Background to Danger (1943). TCM salutes the birthday of Peter Lorre's frequent co-star at Warner Bros. – Sydney Greenstreet – with a day of Greenstreet movies.

Dec. 27 (Tues), 7:30 am, TCM – The Conspirators (1944). TCM continues the Greenstreet birthday tribute.

Dec. 27 (Tues), 9:15 am, TCM – The Mask of Dimitrios (1944). TCM continues the Greenstreet birthday tribute.

Dec. 27 (Tues), 11:00 am, TCM – Three Strangers (1946). TCM continues the Greenstreet birthday tribute.

Dec. 27 (Tues), 6:15 pm, TCM – The Maltese Falcon (1941). TCM ends the Greenstreet birthday tribute with the first movie Peter and Sydney worked in together, along with Humphrey Bogart.

Dec. 29 (Thurs), 8:20 am, Movies!Network – Three Strangers (1946).

Dec. 30 (Fri), 7:40 am, Fox Movie channel – Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea (1961).

New year – new opportunities for Lorre movies on television!

Jan. 6 (Fri), 9:15 am, TCM – Strange Cargo (1940). The daytime theme is "Actor and Director Frank Borzage", including the only Lorre film Borzage directed.

Jan. 20 (Fri), 11:15 pm, TCM – Stranger on the Third Floor (1940). The primetime theme is "Tracking a Killer".

Jan. 30 (Mon), 6 pm, TCM – The Maltese Falcon (1941). The daytime theme is "Novel Adaptations", including this classic from the novel by Dashiell Hammett.
