Virginia Cinema Screens Lorre Horror Classic

Lorre fans in the area of Richmond, Virginia, are in for a very special Halloween treat on Monday, October 7, 2024 – a showing of The Raven (1963) at the historic Byrd Theatre.

Produced by American International Pictures as an entry in their series of 1960s movies based on the work of Edgar Allan Poe, The Raven stars Vincent Price, Peter Lorre, and Boris Karloff, and features a young Jack Nicholson as Peter’s son Rexford. Roger Corman directed the film.

Organized by the Poe Museum, located in Richmond, Virginia, the Poe evening begins at 7 pm. Victoria Price, daughter of Vincent Price, will introduce the movie and participate in a panel discussion. Ms. Price will also sign cookbooks and autobiographies, which will be available for purchase in the cinema lobby after the panel discussion.

Admission to the “Poe Museum Movie Night” is $9 for all seats. Tickets may be purchased at the Byrd Theatre’s box office. Tickets may also be purchased online through the Poe Museum website, as well as the Byrd Theatre website. A nominal booking fee will be added to each ticket purchased online.

The Byrd Theatre is located at 2908 West Cary Street, between North Shepard Street and North Colonial Avenue, in the Carytown district of Richmond, Virginia.

Parking is available on the streets near the cinema, as well as public parking garages. More information about parking, as well as directions to the Byrd, is available on the cinema’s website.

The Poe Museum is located at 1914 East Main Street in Richmond, Virginia.
