Says the AFS website about the star of this “Essential Cinema” series – “A small, rounded man with bulging eyes and a lugubrious manner of speaking, Peter Lorre was an actor who was born to be impersonated. He was also an absolute master of his craft who understood the assignment. In a serious film, he could evoke a somber mood, and in a silly movie, he could play it for laughs. In this series, we get a bit of both, sometimes in the same film. Join us in celebrating an actor who always gives you something memorable to take home.”

Admission to the evening and weekend shows is $13.50 for all seats. Admission to the matinee shows, Monday through Friday, before 6 pm is $11. Tickets may be purchased at the box office, which opens 30 minutes before the first feature. Tickets may also be purchased through the Austin Film Society website.
