In the pages of The Lost One: A Life of Peter Lorre, Stephen D. Youngkin discusses the making of Beat the Devil through interviews with director John Huston. Believing Peter Lorre to be a “good luck charm”, both star Humphrey Bogart and director John Huston wanted Peter on the film, which was shot on location in Italy. Beat the Devil was the final movie Peter made with Bogart and Huston.

The Lost One: A Life of Peter Lorre is available in soft-bound and hard-back editions, as well as the Kindle and Nook.
