SiriusXM Radio Airs Lorre Classic

During the week of January 8, 2024, Radio Classics host Greg Bell celebrates the 85th anniversary of the Lady Esther Screen Guild Theater with a 2-hour block of episodes, including Peter Lorre in “The Maltese Falcon” over SiriusXM Radio.

The block includes “Between Americans” (Dec. 7, 1941); “The Maltese Falcon” (Sept. 20, 1943); “The Gay Divorcee” (March 6, 1944); and “Vivacious Lady” (Dec. 3, 1945).

Originally airing over CBS on September 20, 1943, the episode reunited the cast of the classic 1941 movie The Maltese Falcon in their original roles – Humphrey Bogart as detective Sam Spade, Mary Astor as his client Brigid O’Shaughnessy, Sydney Greenstreet as “the Fat Man” Kasper Gutman, and Peter Lorre as Joel Cairo.
