Lorre Lovers, Spend Valentine’s Day with Peter

Valentine’s Day, February 14, falls on a Thursday in 2019 – and many cinemas in the United States and around the world will schedule special showings of Casablanca (1942), considered by many movie fans as one of the most romantic films in cinema history.

In the pivotal role of Ugarte, provider of exit visas to those desperate to leave Casablanca – and murderer of two German couriers – Peter Lorre gets the action going by leaving with his friend Rick Blaine (Humphrey Bogart) two valuable letters of transit he intends to sell to escaping freedom fighter Victor Lazlo (Paul Henreid) and his wife Ilsa (Ingrid Bergman).
