TCM takes a look a pulp fiction and celebrates the birthday of Shirley MacLaine in April.

Apr 11 (Fri), 8 pm, TCM – The Maltese Falcon (1941). Every Friday in April, TCM turns the spotlight on "pulp fiction" – stories published in magazines printed on paper made from wood pulp. Film noir is the topic tonight, with a double-feature of crime movies. First up is the classic mystery about a San Francisco detective (Humphrey Bogart) on the trail of a fabulous jewel-encrusted statuette and the criminals (Mary Astor, Sydney Greenstreet, Peter Lorre) involved.

Apr 19 (Sat), 4:35 pm, Screenpix – The Comedy of Terrors (1964).
Apr 24 (Thurs), 8:15 am, TCM – Around the World in 80 Days (1956). TCM celebrates the birthday of actress Shirley MacLaine with a day of her movies, including this all-star extravaganza about the Victorian London gentleman (David Niven) who makes a bet he can travel around the world in 80 days.

TCM's May schedule includes only one Lorre movie.
May 28 (Wed), TCM – The Man Who Knew Too Much (1934). TCM presents a day of movies whose titles begin with "The Man Who", including Peter Lorre's first English-speaking film.
