Boston Sci-Fi Film Fest Includes Lorre

Now in its 44th year, the annual Boston SciFi Film Festival is the longest running genre fest in the United States, and this year, the Disney classic 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (1954) is among the many movies on the 11-day schedule, beginning Friday, Feb. 8, and ending Monday, Feb. 18, 2019.

20,000 Leagues Under the Sea will be shown in 35mm on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2019, at the historic Somerville Theatre. The program begins at 7 pm.

Tickets may be purchased for individual movies and events. Admission for 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea is $14.25 for all seats, but the price may go up closer to the screening date. The VIP Festival Pass, including all movies over the 11 days, is available for $175. More information about tickets is available on the Festival website.

The Somerville Theater is located at 55 Davis Square, in the Davis Square area of Somerville, Massachusetts.

Parking in the Davis Square area is limited to on-street metered parking and two small municipal lots. One lot is at Holland and Buena Vista streets, and the other is at Herbert and Day streets. Meters on different streets vary from 15 minutes to 3 hours, with 3-hour meters available on Dover Street and Meacham Road.

The Somerville Theater is well-served by public transportation, including the MBTA Red Line subway, which is immediately adjacent to the theater. More information about parking, as well as public transportation, is available on the cinema website.
